Shatter Me Review

Shatter Me - Tahereh Mafi

I know I'm a little late in the SHATTER ME game, but oh well.

I really enjoyed this book and it didn't take me long to tear through it. But because I am late to the game, I am well aware that my feelings after reading the first book will change after reading the second. For one, in this book Warner is creepy and disturbing...yet, so many of my favorite reviewers are Team Warner, which makes me nervous for my current feelings toward Adam. What's going to happen that will make me think Warner is sane and not guilty of sexual assault on MANY occasions?

I think that my only issue with this book was the MC. Juliette has endured some of the worst circumstances, so I know she's going to be strange; that's believable. But I found myself really annoyed with her repeating things three times: I need, I need, I needI breathe, I breathe, I breathe (these are not direct quotes, just examples of what I mean when I say repetition). It was just overly dramatic and caused the ol' eye-roll. Overall, the MC is a great work-in-progress and I'm sure, as with all MC's in a series, eventually, I'll enjoy her more.

I do think that if you haven't jumped on this bandwagon already, you should. It's worth it.
